A R Rahman to Perform Live in Riyadh

The legendary A.R. Rahman will be Live in Concert in Riyadh on 21 Feb. It was officially announced at a press conference held at the Crown Plaza Al Waha in Riyadh on Wednesday. This marks the first-ever live performance in Riyadh by the globally acclaimed and legendary music composer, singer, song writer, musician multi instrumentalist and philanthropist A.R. Rahman.

For the first time, Rahman will present the public’s favourite songs based on their selection. Online poll will be conducted to select the public’s favourite songs. A R Rahman will select the top thirty songs based on the public opinion to perform live on stage. By this way organisers will make sure to engage with audience well before the event. The public opinion will be gathered by voting on various social media platforms.

As a first step to connect with the people, in addition to media representatives several community leaders, members of All India Steering Committee, representatives of social & cultural organisations and social media influencers were invited to the curtain raiser event and press conference. A R Rahman joined the event online and replied the queries of scribes. Answering a question he said that in addition to his popular numbers he will curate some special items for the Arabic speaking audience of Riyadh.

He said that previously the music enthusiasts of Saudi Arabia used to travel all the way to Dubai to attend his live show. But now he is coming to Riyadh to entertain music lovers of Saudi Arabia. He is very enthusiast as he will perform in Riyadh for the first time.
